All Fired Up…

I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas…I wasn’t convinced that I would like it…and really…I don’t…I LOVE it…all the things that I thought would bug me…holding it…the lighted screen…really don’t…in fact…it’s actually easier to hold than a book…it doesn’t flip and flop around…and…I can make the font big enough that I can actually see it…now…quit snickering…Bertha told me that you put on your reading glasses when you get here…didn’t think she saw you…did you…hmmm…
Anyway…what I’m loving best of all…is that I can take a net-surfing break…without leaving the comfort of my chair…and…I can flip back and forth between books…wow…that’s a lot of multi-tasking…even for me…I’ll try to restrain myself…but…don’t count on it…
Honestly…I haven’t even scratched the surface of its potential…magazines…movies…games…I may never leave my chair again… I could even blog from there…forget contemplation time…I’m Fired up…
So far…I’ve only had a few tiny complaints…first…it is so easy to download things…that I forget I have to pay for them…and for a woman who can spend more in a bookstore than at the grocery store without blinking twice…I’ll have to exercise at least a modicum of restraint…but…there are also some free things…and inexpensive things…I think it will work out…
Second…it’s Wi-Fi…which is great when I’m at home…not so great when I’m not…would love if it were 3G also…
Third…I got stopped by the train this morning…so I immediately whisked out my Fire…only to be disappointed that by the time it woke up…and found my place…the train was finished…didn’t get to read a word…but…it did serve the purpose of keeping me entertained at the tracks…
Bertha loves that the cover is her favorite shade of flamingo pink…she chose between it and lime green…of course…there’s plain black and gray as well…but those wouldn’t do for Bertha…hello…
Well…I guess I’ll keep this short and sweet…Bertha says it’s time to go and re-Kindle my flame…what can I say…she’s right…I’m outta here…

  1. Ahhh! Right there with you!! I got an iPad last year and got the Kindle App... didn't think I'd EVER leave printed books - but I LOVE it. The thing I REALLY like is that I can highlight parts that resonate with me now... and then unhighlight and highlight other parts - ya know, once I've grown and something else resonates with me... ;)

  2. Jenn...how right you are...I got the Kindle because it does a lot of the things the iPad will do...and was a lot less expensive...that made me love it even more!

  3. Less expensive = AWESOME! Tablets are really coming a long way fast... it's nice because they're so versatile!
