A Yogurt in Time…

I’m trying…I really am…I’m trying to make healthier food choices…one of those would be…eating…Greek yogurt…I know…the protein content is double…the regular kind…the carb count is less…it’s organic…but…I just don’t love it…
Now…I am giving it a fair try…adding fruit…hoping it will grow on me…that would be only fair…considering…how…ice cream…my real preference…has literally…grown…on me over the years…but…I digress…
Anyway…it got me to thinking…why is it…that many of the things…that I know are good for me…and…that I really want to do…aren’t that easy…and…why…is it…that so many of the things…that I know are bad for me…and…that I don’t want to do…are so hard not to do…
Hmmm…
Bertha…reminds me…I ate Greek yogurt today…I didn’t eat…ice cream…which is what I wanted…and…really today…this moment…is all I have…yesterday is past…tomorrow hasn’t come…I’ve done my best…
Of course…she’s right…I can only make choices in the moment…whether…it’s food…exercise…spending money…or…anything else…it doesn’t matter what I did or didn’t do yesterday…or…what I’m planning for tomorrow…what I’m doing now…in this moment…is all that matters…it’s all I can count on…
And…honestly…I may be one step closer…to liking Greek yogurt…I’ll see…tomorrow…

  1. I totally get the lesson you're sharing today... and totally relate... however, the Healthy Living Educator in me is jumping up and down, champing at the bit... she just can't resist telling you how to make Greek Yogurt more palatable... I tried to tell her that it's not polite to ALWAYS talk about food and health, but she just won't listen... she will not let me leave without posting this fantastic little trick for Greek Yogurt.... maybe she's my equivalent to Bertha... LOL!!

Anyway - have you tried putting a little honey and cinnamon in it?!? To. Die. For. It takes that extra zing out of the yogurt and really makes it a yummy - healthy - treat.

Ok - back to your regularly scheduled Jenn now... LOL!!!

    1. Jenn...thank you for your lovely comment...I can just see you jumping up and down...and...thanks for the tip...it's the extra zing that gets me...I love...regular yogart...but...am trying to avoid the artifical sweetners...and extra sugar stuff...

Don't try to tie down that HLE...honey...let her jump in anytime!

  2. Oh trust me - that woman can't be contained... LOL!!!

Yeah - that extra tartness gets me too with the Greek Yogurt - and I don't like the ones with fruit because it's too much added sugar... so the honey trick works nicely - and it doesn't take a lot of honey to make it wonderful... plus - if you get local honey, it will help with allergies (if you suffer from that sort of thing) - and honey's got all sorts of other health benefits... so... even though it's a little sugar, it's more healthy than anything else... at least, that's what I tell myself... LOL!!!

    1. I'm with you all the way...today...I'm adding a bit of local honey...and cinnamon...with my raspberries...we'll see...I love taking little steps...

If all else fails...I'll mix it half and half for a while until I get used to it!

      Thanks, Jenn!
